He tied his shoes properly and rallied the base, thats really all the dems needed him to do.

He did, however, come off as an arrogant, condescending asshole... so that'll hurt with the independents...

Exactly. About the 75th time he rudely interrupted with some sarcastic "malarkey" remark I would have stood up and punched him in his fucking plagiarist mouth. Ryan is a tool box of epic proportions himself but I thought he sounded much more sincere than Biden who seemed to end all of his arguments by calling his opponent a liar.

And did the DNC send out a plea to shills around the planet to bombard my facebook with "Biden rocked it!"?

Biden won. Did a great job.

His answer for the abortion was perfect.

Both of them completely ignored the last question to squeeze in their closing statements. The idea of them saying all that shit to a soldier who thought the ads were too negative? LOL what? Anyway, yeah that round went to Biden, easy.

She was a great moderator. I'd like to see her run more of them.

Fox was literally peeing it's pants over what a meany Biden was. I only thought he was overly heated once, but the rest of the time he was simply giving no quarter to Lyin' Ryan.

Also, undecideds polled say Biden won. I imagine we can find numerous polls that say whatever you want it to say.

Great entertaining Esquire article on it...

http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/p ... ff9d214771
For years, Paul Ryan has been the shining champion of some really terrible ideas, and of a dystopian vision of the political commonwealth in which the poor starve and the elderly die ghastly, impoverished deaths, while all the essential elements of a permanent American oligarchy were put in place. This has garnered him loving notices from a lot of people who should have known better. The ideas he could explain were bad enough, but the profound ignorance he displayed on Thursday night on a number of important questions, including when and where the United States might wind up going to war next, and his blithe dismissal of any demand that he be specific about where he and his running mate are planning to take the country generally, was so positively terrifying that it calls into question Romney's judgment for putting this unqualified greenhorn on the ticket at all. Joe Biden laughed at him? Of course, he did. The only other option was to hand him a participation ribbon and take him to Burger King for lunch.

You know what's the difference between Sarah Palin and Paul Ryan?

I didn't see a winner either way, at least not of the debate. I think Biden gave his base something to feel good about, in that at least Biden challenged Ryan (although I think Biden would have challenged Ryan if Ryan said, "Your name is Joe Biden"). Ryan passed the VP acceptability test. He came off knowledgeable, gentlemanly, in control and refined. Biden, not so much.

I looked at the debate in reversal too. What would I have felt if Biden was not the incumbent? Would you really have been impressed with Biden acting the way he did if he wasn't the incumbent? Would all those interruptions, gestures and histrionics really have impressed you? In other words, would you think he would have "won" the debate if he was on the outside looking in?

My instinct is that an honest person would say no to that. Which just reinforces the feeling to me that Biden just gave his base something to feel good about, but didn't really do much to change the momentum of the campaign.
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.
