I was seriously underwhelmed. To me, Apple caught up with Samsung and HTC's 6 month old handsets but didn't really go anywhere groundbreaking.

Anyone here get interested by SIRI? Personally I have no real desire to talk to my phone but a few guys (Apple fanboys) at work think the whole thing is completely amazing...

World Phone is kinda cool if you're in the US, otherwise it's "meh" because everything is GSM anyway.
Improved camera optics is interesting but not earth-shattering.

What I really want is a Windows Phone 7 to be competitive with the Galaxy S2. That would be a killer phone for me (vastly prefer the WP7 "hubs" concept over separate apps in iOS/Android).

This. I like Android, but I'm not sure that it's as great as people make it out to be. I really like what I'm seeing with WP7 and I'd love to get one, but atm they can't even keep up with my Galaxy S Epic, let alone the Galaxy S2.

I use the Android voice features quite a bit. It's great when I'm on my bike and want to "text" someone. Or in the car, etc.

I'm more interested in upgrading just to get the A5 processor.

The graphics chip on the A5 is decent. CPU not so much, at least compared to other Cortex-A9 designs.

Theres no guarantee that they'll keep the same design as the 4 on the 5.

Sure, and if you love the iPhone4 then you'll love the 4S even more, like anyone who loved the SGS will love the SGS2.

I'm pretty sure they'll keep the same user interface design on the 5, which is unlikely to come out before May next year (in my opinion). Any hardware revision will be making it thinner/lighter and maybe going from a 3.5" screen to 4.something.

Ended up buying an SGS2 outright. Love it so far.

I doubt they ever change the UI, other than minor tweaks here and there. The UI is right where it needs to be.

I was referring to the physical look of the device.

I do expect them to add widgets at some point. After that both iOS and Android will need to move away from an app-centric model and towards a more data-centric one, but that's going to take a while. I think the big thing iOS needs is to allow better data sharing within the device - forcing people to go via DropBox and the like is a wee bit silly.

I think "flop" is a bit strong for what's likely to be the best selling phone of the year. Didn't meet expectations, sure but there's enough of a following and Siri is good enough to make the whole package very marketable.
