I consider it an outside shot that he will run, but if he does, he has such broad appeal and has a record of being a moderate Republican, that I can't see how Obama could prevail in an election against him, given the fact that Obama's base is shaky and he's lost the independents.

I hope to god he runs...

As for Christie, I don't think his policies for governing the US are developed et, so there's nothing much to comment on, except to say what I did, and I'll repeat it for you since it seems you missed it.

He has broad appeal. He is a moderate Republican. That, coupled with the defection of Obama's base and the independent vote would give him (or any moderate Republican) everything they needed to take the White House. If the election were held today, even Palin would have a shot at defeating Obama.

You said something that is clearly false, either because you were ignorant or because you were lying. You do that often and you always refuse to respond. The reason is pretty obvious; if you responded you would be on record acknowledging reality and you would no longer be able to make the false statement. Which is why Ddrak spelled out what was required to make a VAT progressive. To be part of a progressive tax system a VAT would require subsidies for low earners and income taxes for high earners. Not what Embar had in mind.
