Wow. This is pretty hard to believe. This violates all kinds of conflict of interest rules. I am sure she found some way around those rules, but I can't fathom how. I am a support contractor on loan to the U.S. government and a bit player at best at the director level in an acquisition program, but I am required to sign an organizational conflict of interest agreement that keeps me from doing what she just did. I think POTUS should step in and live up to his promise. This is crap.

Especially considering she just APPROVED something that benefits her new employer. How is this not a type of payola.
ETA. Not only did she approve it .."she vigorously opposed any efforts to impose restrictions on the deal, noting the marriage would "bring exciting benefits to consumers that outweigh potential harms."

It's nuts, but the problem is how do you stop it? You can't easily prevent people leaving government and moving into private industry.

Either the report is wrong, or she is ignoring an Executive Order. In one of the few things I applaud the Obama Admin was its lobbying restrictions. In all fairness, we need to see how the Obama admin responds to this.

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Industry capture is nothing new to the tech industry. The only difference is now people are finally paying attention.
How to stop it?
Easy: If you've worked for the government then you can't be a lobbyist. If you've been a lobbyist then you can't enter government service.
