is it possible to install a vid card in a laptop? any way to rig it so that it works if it doesnt fit?

I just imagined a tiny notebook and a giant video card hanging off the side of it. :lol:

A few years back they toyed with utilizing the expresscard bus to attach an external video card. It, obviously, ran into a number of problems and was never seen again.

Current high end laptops have the ability to swap the video card using the MXM standard. Keep in mind that it's difficult to find MXM cards sold by themselves, and when you do find them their cost is fairly high.

Those are popular in the business world in aging laptops, however they are pretty much only acceptable for still images or text.
