Massa pushed out for healthcare vote

Post by Embar Angylwrath »

No.. he wasn't. As much as some of the right-wing whack-jobs would like to paint this as truth, it ain't. Massa is on record as saying he'd vote for healthcare if IT HAD THE PUBLIC OPTION... it doesn't get much more liberal than that. He's on record as saying he'd vote FOR the healthcare bill even if 80% of his distrcit consituency (which is pretty conservative) didn't want him to vote for reform. That, in itself, regardless of his alleged moral indiscretions, is reason for him to go. If a Representative flips the bird to his/her constituency.. show them the door, and turn out the lights on your way out.

Republicans would be well served to treat this shitbag as toxic waste.. don't go near it, don't touch it.

I've met the man. When I met him (2005), he seemed like the kind of guy who populates VFW's at that age - boisterous, loud in a non-obnoxious way. Never would have thought he'd be sexually harrassing men.

That said, he's had a history since then of being...blame-averse.

Seems to me that the guy is just lashing out and knows that someone out there will bring him in to listen.

If only they saw it as a Trap like I do.

He's dedicating a full hour to him tonight. Anyone in Washington that has anyone remotely paying attention to FoxNews on their staff knows that this is what Glenn has been looking for.

So... Does Massa mean what he said, or is it just a setup?

As Embar said, this is a guy that was on record saying he'd vote for HC with a Public Option even if 80% of his constituency didn't want it (there's video of him saying that, too). I don't think this guy is being forced out over HC like everyone else seems to think. If he was for HC with a Public Option I'm sure they could've brought something to the table to bring him around to voting yes for a bill without a Public Option.

This whole thing would be a hilarious circus, but for the fact that it's pretty disturbing that this man was actually elected and ended up doing weird shit to his male staffers (tickle-fights...really???). Because, first you have Rush & Beck basically cheer leading him and the importance of what he has to say, then Rush finds out Massa dissed him, so then he completely shifts to "this man is crazytown". Then we have Glenn's interview - which can best be described as a tragic comedy - showing Massa to be a raving, shady loon. There wasn't a crumb for Beck to feed on.

In fact, it was such a disaster, that Glenn Beck APOLOGIZED to his audience for wasting an hour of their time.

It was horrible.

The best news out of this was that it wasn't a "trap". It was like watching a maddened driveling idiot talk to Beck for an hour.

Beck is already a maddened driveling idiot, he probably didn't appreciate the competition.

They spoke a secret language in between the FREENS, and set up a date.

Which one you figure is a top?

Glenn did say today on the radio that about 15mins into the interview Massa stopped looking him in the eye.

Not surprised, just another liar.

Along with Beck. Why do you even listen to him? You're smarter than that. The Limbaughs and Becks of the radio world aren't interested in exploring the truth, they're interested in driving ratings so they can sell adds. They do that by pandering to the weak-minded, spoon feeding them inflammatory spin and outright lies. You'd do well to avoid anythng those nutjobs say, and get your info from other sources. Both of them are windbags full of dishonest hypocrisy (especially when it comes to drugs)

I watch and listen to him because I find him and his friends entertaining.

Pretty sure I've been over this before...

Yes. You've already admitted you follow Glenn Beck as a source of information (you feel he says *truths* no one else will) as opposed to watching him for the "trainwreck" entertainment experience. Constantly listening to people like Rush and Beck for your news is going to have an affect on your worldview. It's not like it's an entirely benign passive experience.

You guys can obviously say whatever the fuck you want. It hasn't changed my listening/watching Beck before and it won't now. Have fun.

Stop pretending you listen for "entertainment".

You listen to Beck because you think he's speaking truth to power and covering vital stories ignored by the news media. You internalize what Beck says no matter how moronic. Often the idiocy flows from Becks mouth directly into your brain and onto the boards, not as entertainment, but as things you claim to believe.

As Embar said, Beck panders to the weak-minded. His advice was given in good faith. It was just wasted on you for obvious reasons.

Do I think he speaks some truths? Yes.

Am I entertained while watching/listening? Yes.

In the thread you linked I said it was an honest question. It still was.

History is there to teach us our past mistakes. If we don't research or ask questions about the history of former psychopath leaders, aren't we doing ourselves a disservice?

I'm sure you were just asking an "honest question". It's just amusing that the "honest question" went from Becks mouth into your brain and onto the boards a few days later.

History should have taught you that the bigger disservice is looking to Beck for answers. He's a dishonest clown.
