Portal Easter Egg
This is an insane trail that Valve laid down:
Ok, so Portal gets a patch yesterday to add 26 radios to the game that you have to move around the levels to get reception - get all 26 and you get an achievement. Three of them give morse code funny stuff, one gives a morse code MD5 hash for "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" and the rest sound like transmission noise.
Then, someone tries running the transmission noise through a SSTV (slow scan television) decoder and suddenly gets images. Some of the images are numbered in sequence 32 characters long and each contains a highlighted number or letter from A-F. Putting them together gives another MD5 hash. Using the hint from another picture that it's a phone number, the FacePunch guys reverse the hash to get a number which, when called, has a modem at the other end.
After much discussion about modems and terminal programs, someone digs up a working one of each and manages to connect, using "backup/backup" for username and password (as hinted by the morse code in step 1), and suddenly gets lots of ASCII art. Then they connect again and get different ASCII art. Looks like Portal 2 screens or something - hard to tell.
Seriously, that's one hell of a trail to lay down and some damn obscure clues, and I have no clue if it's even done yet... I'm astounded.

Is it a video game or a training program for CIA/NSA crypto-analysts? Wow.

Awesome job on the developers part & equally impressive display of the power of the interwebz. Pretty impressive what collaborative minds can do.

Re: Portal Easter Egg
I read this as "Postal Easter Egg"
So,
My favorite Postal 2 easter egg is the nightclub with the gimp dancing in the middle of the crowd. One molotov cocktail and I swear I faintly hear "Disco Inferno"
