I looked for a poll-making function... I guess either it's disabled or I'm retarded. Im sure most of you will agree with the later.
Anyhow...

So... here's the big cliffhanger. The clock is ticking. It's like a big standoff scene in a John Woo film.
Does Mr. Soldier dude get released back to the US military in a handoff?
Maybe our OMG SPECIAL FORCES will show up and rescue him?
Or is Mr. Grunt gonna end up in front of a construction-paper banner with masked dudes standing behind him (dull knife in hand). Geez! This is just like on of those 'choose your own ending' books! How fun! This = worthy of front-page news, right? I wonder if there's a segment on Al-Jazzera (or whatever foreign news-source) for every 'insurgent' that gets nabbed and put into one of our waterboard centers?
OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY, IM SO 'PINS AND NEEDLES' RIGHT NOW. I WONDER WHAT'LL HAPPEN NEXT? *refreshes Google news*

"Release the soldier or you will be hunted"
Interesting leaflets/flyers we're distributing.

Didn't your mama ever tell you not to tango with a carrot?

That's exactly the point I've been making about the fact that torturing prisoners makes the world less safe for Americans. The Taliban can (rightly or wrongly) claim that they are just doing exactly what the US does - capturing their fighters and torturing them into submission.I wonder if there's a segment on Al-Jazzera (or whatever foreign news-source) for every 'insurgent' that gets nabbed and put into one of our waterboard centers?

And treating them with kids gloves emboldens them.
Energy is neither created or destroyed, so it is fairly safe to assume the particles that make up your body will exist forever. We are all eternal.

No. Anything short of completely annihilating them emboldens them, if you're not going to give any ground. Go read Machiavelli - he had plenty of wisdom on how to deal with this sort of thing.Saevrok wrote:And treating them with kids gloves emboldens them.

Macchiavelli has become decidedly unfashionable since the end of the Nixon Administration. A pity, really.
