Big Love

Post by Taxious »

Has anyone watched a good majority of this show? I downloaded season 1 and after watching the first few episodes, I'm not too impressed. Apart from having a crush on Bill Paxton, the show hasn't really offered anything interesting yet.

I found it really boring. It's just a ton of domestic household shit, so if you like watching multiple wives complaining, competing and doing chores....this one is for you.

Ah alright.

I was hoping it would "pick up" and something interesting would happen.

I am sure there are interesting things that happen somewhere along the line, and they definitely have great actors in it - but all the housewife and household running boring bs sort of shit stands out to me. I watched the whole first season & then episodes here and there of the second hoping it would get better (I like Bill Paxton too), but there was just way too much people cleaning, making dinner, driving, shopping, wives complaining, daily tired boring stuff - that it just didn't hold my interest into season 2 for long.

Somewhere along the line one of the wives kills their father or something... I think..

I never really got into the show.

Yeah, I lost interest as well. And the Mormons I know all thought it was super ghey stupid and didn't even come close to representing the LDS's (but rather was some creepy cult-like version of the religion all glorified and shit.) One of them said he'd take a big poo on it if he could.

I watched it mainly for Chloe Z because I find her awesome hot and weird and freakisly sexy. I dunno what it is. Still, she could not save the show. HBO = fail at mormons.

I sort of agree with everyone else, I gave it a few episodes at the beginning but it didn't hold enough interest to continue. I figure I must have missed something considering how many seasons it's gotten. Dunno, might give it another chance some day.

Speaking of HBO, I finally got caught up with Entourage, I think. I watched 6 episodes of season 4. And let me tell you, it just plain sucks dick so far. What the fuck? Did they fire some important people and hire a bunch of tards?

The only thing worth watching is Ari and Lloyd. The rest are just kind of lame and useless.

Entourage is great, but from the beginning I thought that it was completely due to Lloyd, Ari, and I also like Eric. And yeah, the last couple seasons have kinda went to shit. Still on my watch list though.

Well the characters in the show are FLDS, so mainstream LDS people ought to hate them. The LDS church does persecute fundamentalists, which gets depicted in the show. There is a really good non-fiction book by John Krakauer called Under the Banner of Heaven that is about the founding of the Mormon church interwoven with a story of a murder committed by a modern day FLDS.
