Multiplayer Turn-Based Strategy Games (PC)
My friends and I have this long-standing tradition of periodically getting together and playing the crap out of some turn-based strategy games, but it seems like there hasn't really been any decent new ones lately. We've played the crap out of Epic 40k: Final Liberation, Civilization 4, Master of Orion 3, and Medieval 2: Kingdoms (which isn't entirely turn-based, but close enough). I was wondering if anyone has seen any new ones or any good old ones lately?

Can recommend:
Civ4: Colonization (different enough to be interesting)
Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor (not that different from original)
Saw ads for:
Combat Mission Shock Force: Marines (looked turn based, but closer to "simulation" than "game")

Alright, I'll have to check those out. I had picked up Galactic Civ 2: The Dread Lords a while back, and while it was fun, it didn't have a multiplayer option at all. Did they actually change that?

I thought it did - could be mistaken though.Alarik Zekaiden wrote:Alright, I'll have to check those out. I had picked up Galactic Civ 2: The Dread Lords a while back, and while it was fun, it didn't have a multiplayer option at all. Did they actually change that?

Have you taken a look at Sword of the Stars? While the combat phase can be tedious with very large fleets, it is excellent during the early and mid-phases of the game.
