I'm almost embarrassed to say I saw this movie, because I knew it was going to be laaaaame - but I like the two leading actors in it (Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart) and truth be told - I do like me some vampires so, I saw it with a friend. It was kind of a guilty pleasure. It was horribly cheesy, melodramatic and angsty and the vampire special effects were awful. The entire Cullen family (besides Edward) were horribly cast and the hair was awful - I know you wouldn't think hair would be a big deal, but the blonde dye jobs were sooo ridiculously bad and Jacob (who was suppose to be the hot werewolf guy) looked like a dork wearing a bad Halloween Pocahontas wig. I was hoping that maybe Catherine Hardwicke would bring more of her "thirteen" teen edginess to it, but nope. It's still chock full of virginal, Mormon-goodness.

Edward the sparkle-vampire was very hot though. In spite of the cheesy premise and horrible dialogue, he really did a good job delivering a smooth performance. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him, he was the only redeeming part of this angsty sugar binge.

Yes indeedy. They all sparkle like diamonds when in sunlight. So, this doesn't follow the "sunlight kills vampires" mythology. They just avoid being in the sunlight if there is the remote possibility of a human seeing them. Because of their "Sparkle-skin" it would be fairly obvious they are supernatural creatures. Or really into glitter.

They don't appear to glitter outside of UV rays though.

I'll likely watch it when it hits dvd's / cable. But, it will be something I watch all alone one afternoon, where nobody will be witness to it. That's kind of how it was with "Honey" and "Glitter."

Saw it. Honestly I must be the only woman on the face of the planet who had no idea about this series and damn it NOW i have to go read the rest of it. I'm getting the vampire/werewolf thing but i figured he'd change her, esp when the vamp bit her but nooooo

Anyway I pretty much agree with Harlow. the effects were awful, the blonde hair dye was awful and it was cheesy... so when's the next installment come out ?!

Library has the second installment on back order for like weeks... maybe I should just break down and go to Barnes and Noble and buy it. I hate to spend the money on the book though when i can read it for free at the library
