I'm loving this game. It's a brilliant FPS - much better than Crysis was if only for the fact the map isn't divided into discrete sections but you feel like you have the freedom to go anywhere (well, except in the first half hour). The world is massive - about 3 miles by 6 miles and full of lots of fun stuff to blow up, set fire to and generally shoot before it shoots you. Missions are pretty well done and only mildly repetitive - the toughest part being the size of the world makes you take a decent amount of time just getting where you want to go because fighting off random encounters on the way chews up time.
20 hours in and I'm really only about 15-20% of the way through the game. Maybe I suck, or just like exploring with side missions too much, but I really don't want to miss stuff!

That's interesting. To scale with the character right? Like if the character were life-size, it would be 3 by 6 miles? The world is massive - about 3 miles by 6 miles

Yeah it rules. Driving sucks ass though. I wish you could do it in 3rd person mode. And what's up with you always having the slowest vehicle in the game? Even if the enemy is driving a fucking rust box they can out run and ram you. I hear a car coming after me and I immediately get out and start blasting. I thought them incorporating the map thing was awesome though. The mix in of having to keep malaria drugs in stock was an awesome idea. All in all I think they did a real good job.

Yeah, I never seem to be able to significantly outrun the enemies even in the dune buggy (which sometimes can but not often). I tend to just jump out and blast too, or if I'm in a jeep I just jump behind the mounted gun.
The fact there's no crosshairs so you're always aiming, and the map being incorporated into the game rather than a HUD element is great - really gets you into it.
