The gameplay movie looked ok. I'm not convinced the Witchdoctor is a good enough class to remove one of the other core 5 though.

The Witchdoctor looks sort of like an alternative to the Druid, which wasn't all that awesome of a class in Diablo 2. Given how few abilities were shown I'm willing to withold judgement on the classes. I'm more of an Assassin man myself anyway. As long as there's a good next step for a class like that I'll be happy.

Pff - druid and assassin weren't in the core 5 anyway: they were added in the expansion.

I liked the Barbarian and Sorceress classes and I seriously doubt they'd remove either of those. I'd bet Witch Doctor is going to replace Paladin.

A: We have no plans to carry classes over. It's a fresh start, we haven't finalized the final classes or how many there will be. We're not trying to bring back Diablo II classes.

A: It's not really a replacement. It's a really cool class that we liked the sound of. The witch doctor doesn't prohibit us deciding to put a necromancer class in too.

I never got into the Diablo series. Something about the top-down view bothered me. Same reason I could never get into the Neverwinter series, too. The mechanics just don't feel right to me. I'm always amazed at the strong following it has, though.
