...and suddenly they're not a state sponsor of terrorism any more? How the hell are those two related, or does the list really have nothing to do with the words that make up its description?

It's the only thing Bush has left as a legacy: Now he can point to how he defused the North Korea situation. Forget Katrina, Iraq, Guantanamo, 9/11, Bin Laden, Minnesota bridges, and the destruction of the Justice Department as a nonpolitical force, he got Kim to destroy a cooling tower.

Essentially, losing the cooling tower means he can no longer make and distribute plutonium, one of the largest fears about NK's nuclear capacity. And, when you're negotiating, you do have to give to get.Ddrak wrote:link

Dude I live 3 minutes from that bridge. It has nothing zero nada to do with GWB. The damn thing was 60 years old and rusty. Over the last few decades it had been handling 2 to 3 times the max traffic it was designed for.
If you want to blame anyone blame the last 3 governors of Minnesota and or their transportation secretaries. Or just blame the cult of the tax cut. For the last 20 years taxes in Minnesota have been going down. Gas tax in Minnesota pays for roads. It's been fixed at 21 cents per gallon for the last 30 years. It hasn't kept up with inflation, in the mean time the states population keeps growing. We have more cars on the road, and less money generated by them. Now our infrastructure is going to shit because no government entity has enough cash to pay for regular maintenance and replacement.
Since the I35 bridge collapsed hey have closed 3 more bridges in Minnesota because they were rotting out.
