Few of us have started on 17th with early access, any who'd like to please join us there on 20th or whenever you decide to try the game out!

Hey Fang, I might try AoC out, at least for the first free month. I don't see myself having much time to play but I might see ya on. And I suppose this server, for whatever reason, is as good as any. Are there seperate PvE and PvP servers?

Minute -- Omm = PVE server. Yes, they keep them separate due to special rule sets.

I've only played up to level 9 on a Cimmerian Dark Templar. A quick report would be...



Holy cow, this game rocks. Directional offense/defense, collision system, great use of instancing (only a few pieces), solo & multiplayer instances/quests...

My wife is playing a demonologist -- all I could hear was her giggling and saying "I kill j00, one shot!" and "keep on sizzlin'!" so I'm thinking that class is fun for the destructive. Others I know have been playing necros and rangers -- they're entertained as well.

For the techies: My machine is an Intel E6600, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 7950GT, Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit. And I run fantastically! I do hear it runs better in DX10 mode. It was programmed for that so, there ya go. I was pulling down about 18 FPS in the town (Tortage), and maybe about 25 out and about on my own. There's no hitching that I saw (I hitch all the time in Vanguard and get 45-50 FPS).

I've only been playing a couple days, and I know I'm going to stick with it. I'd encourage folks to at least try the 30 days that comes with the game -- you'll know by then where you're at.

Dunno Fang, gonna drop by my local video game retailer today and pick it up. I don't know shit about the game, and I haven't played anything in forever, but I might give it a go just for shits and giggles. And I suppose Omm is as good as any. Lets just hope the influx of punk ass kids who are off for summer choose another server. I hate kids.

I think the M17+ ESRB rating will help that out some (not completely, obviously). Most parents are gonna freak at the nipples showing in the character generation before they even get to the game itself.

Damn, the more I read about AoC the more I want to play. I had no idea how big this game was going to be. About half the people I play with in Guild Wars are quiting for it and eve some RL friends that don't game that often are picking it up. Doesn't it seem like they aren't going to have enough servers?

I might pick this up and play tonight. I'll be messaging you Minute for groupage and cyber.

Oh weird, they are letting everyone keep their characters from early access? I assumed they would have done what Guild Wars did and made everyone start over on the official launch date.

@ Ddrak -- You're assuming parents actually look at the crap their kids buy? At any rate, I daresay it might not be "twitch" enough or quick play enough for the A.D.D. laden WoW-Kiddies I encountered during my tenure. I hope that's the case, anyway.

Congratulations to anyone who got a Collecter's Addition (myself lucky) they sold out all 111,000 copies! Game is definitely a hit.
