Reign Over Me

Adam Sandler is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors. Sure, he used to be a SNL comedy actor, and he was good at it. And his comedies are usually a good watch even though they were "dumb" comedies. However, the more serious films, like Spanglish, 50 First Dates and Click were all excellent films.

Reign Over Me was quite different from the others. Kind of a dark plotline about grief and family, but overall, the acting performances of Cheadle, Sandler and a couple others really made this film. It will go nowhere in at the Academy Awards, but I really liked this movie.

My grade: A-

I really didn't like "Spanglish" or "Click" (thought they weren't a Gigli level of bad). The Onion recently had a joke article on people demonstrating - demanding the long-awaited sequel to Click.

Though anything he puts out is monumentally better than whatever piece of fluff-crap Steve Carell is putting out.

Click was one of the worst films I've ever seen.

I've heard some good stuff on Reign Over Me though. I'll grab it the next time I'm at the store.

I would watch Click if it was Milo Manara's and starred, say, Angie Harmon.

I just saw Reign Over Me, and suffice it to say, it was quite horrendous. There really wasn't that much of a plot... the director just did not build anything up. It was all just too "obvious." Yet another "serious" Sandler movie that went on too long.
