Vanguard, Who's going to make the switch?
I myself plan to. I am tired of wow, the lack of in depth character progression and diablo 2 style gameplay just irritate the fuck out of me. EQ2 was good until I realized it was just a rehash of the same old shit that sony was famous for, fuck ups and big boobies. If I want big boobies I will drive my happy ass down to atlanta and pay a chick 20 bucks at the cheetah and I will have my big boobies.
Plus the weapon styles in wow annoy me to no end, Take the Hakkar 2hander I mean seriously, this isnt final fantasy, nobody could lift a sword that fucking big. On the same note, take the legendary blessed blade of the windseeker, its bigger than most 2 handers in the game and the damn thing is one handed.

Energy is neither created or destroyed, so it is fairly safe to assume the particles that make up your body will exist forever. We are all eternal.

WoW definetly takes a childs imagination...
Hell, the new tips during loading screens indicate they're going for the younger crowd now.

Well I wont be. Not that I play WOW either =P But Vanguard does look good. Sometimes it sucks that I went all pro hacker and shit but you know can't game for life.
I didn't like WOW either, seemed really animish to me or some shit oh and its leveling seemed like cake walk like I could be 60 in less then a week. I played EQ2 for 2 weeks got to 44 and relized that it was basicly EQ1 with bigger boobies and shitty content. Oh and if I want to see big boobies ill just tell my girl friend take her shirt off and start doing jumping jacks (and I have done that before). Well anywase I don't know what I'm saying or where I was going with this...I got disctracted by the though of Jumping jacks....

I didn't see a mention of ZG anywhere...
Besides, it basically takes a strong force with MC gear to clear ZG..

Being content with a game is like being content with your computer. When you go use a faster/better one.....and then go back to yours it seems intollerably slow/crappy. I went back to EQ1 just recently due to Sonys free 21 day offer and I could not believe how bad it looked.
My guess is you will have the same reaction once you play Vanguard.

I dunno about that. Tons of cliches come to mind:
If the shoe fits...
If it ain't broke...
Yadda yadda. Games are all about the fun factor. I have friends who are still playing EQ and having a blast with it. Though I have no interest in returning to EQ, my disinterest has nothing to do with outdated technology (though I agree, the graphics look very crude and dated).
I'm enjoying WoW because it caters to my current gaming lifestyle, which is much more casual. I expect Vanguard to cater to the more hardcare players and I don't expect to return to the life of 50+
Something to note: Sigil has lost a lot of talent lately. It doesn't usually bode well for a product if they are losing people long before the product is released.
We'll see what happens,

Woops. The above should've read:Lunarstorm wrote: I expect Vanguard to cater to the more hardcare players and I don't expect to return to the life of 50+
...I don't expect to return to the life of 50+ hours a week of gaming. Buying a house, having a lovely girlfirend, etc. will gladly take you away from the gameaholic lifestyle."

We both love MMOG's but really don't play very much anymore. Seems like there is always something mo fun to do.Ddrak wrote:Lies! It just means you're in the interim time between finding the GF and getting her playing MMOGs as well!Buying a house, having a lovely girlfirend, etc. will gladly take you away from the gameaholic lifestyle.
Dd

So, with as little as we play, we definitely still enjoy WoW because it is friendly to the casual gamer. I would have been really frustrated in EQ1 playing as little as I do now.
