as most of you already know, i am using an nvidia 5200! unfortunately i'm looking to get a new card because old five tooie isnt putting out as much as it seemed like when i got it a long time ago

what should i get :[

Get a 6800 Nvidia. The price has dropped a bit and they seem to be more available now then they were 2 months ago.

If your going to SLI then i would say go with the 6600 nvidia.

If you're going to SLI you may as well just skip it and go with the 7800, it beats 6800's SLI all by its lonesome.

If you're going to SLI you may as well just skip it and go with the 7800, it beats 6800's SLI all by its lonesome.

Sure if you got 1200 bucks to spend on two cards.

and aside from that even though most of these companys say they have 7800 in stock they dont. Its a pretty hard chipset to get right now since its pretty brand new.

Its a new tech that allows you to use two video cards.

It requires a sli compliant MB and the only Video cards taking advantage of it are nvidia chipsets.

I was saying a single 7800 outperforms two 6800's

The 7800 was $600 the last I knew, and thats right when it came out. 2 6800's will run you about the same.

Personally I'd say if you can't afford a 7800 then go with the ATI X800 or X850 series. Below that, well, that's really just a matter of finding what's on sale.

Actually you got me there it is not new but it is newer in the main stream hten it was when voodoo was doing it.

Its not false at all.

SLI was not pratical on ANY mb when SLI was introduced. And it has stayed that way untill the last year and half. Yea its was available but it was by no means pratical.
