Unsubscribing to EQ2
So srsly... I unsubscribed the other week and they made me fill out some queer ass 25 question poll thing before I thought I'd be finished.
Wrong.
Up next was a 5 page summary of all the stuff they have for me to make me reconsider...

Wahaaaaa?! I cried while I laughed.

I really hate the entire "customer retention" department of every single service industry. I know they are there to sway the weak of mind back.....but when I decide to cancel something.....there is no way yer keeping me because at that point you have pissed me off so badly I want to stab you in the face with a soldering iron.

EQ2 lasted me 12 days, then it was back to FFXI. 100 dollar preorder down the toilet, just like SWG.
No cutscenes/movies or no good storyline hooks, I no play game.

I'm enjoying EQ2 still (just killed Darathar as a guild), but my biggest disappointment in the game has been the lack of anything to do with Antonia or DeLere. The only time you even get to see those characters in-game is if you betray your city, and then it's essentially a cutscene.
Both towns have big locked citadels/castles - why aren't they being used for something?

Gonna have to buy an expansion to raid the guy that drops the key. Then buy another expansion to enter.
It's the sony way.

We were hoping the same thing - which was part of the reason we pushed so hard to get lv30. The whole sequence of people giving you writs implies getting closer and closer to the people in charge, but when we hit 30 there was just nothing new - except a few more things on the city merchants.I was hoping that if you got your guild to level 30 you would be allowed in the castles of either city for some big pow wow.
The discovery of the Wyrmsteel recipe (what used to be the only really useful reward at guild lvl 30 until they made it lv 25) was entirely by accident when I was selling stuff to the broker in the tradeskill instance and noticed it there.
Interestingly enough as an aside, hosting the pics of the Wyrmsteel recipes came close to blowing my monthly bandwidth. Far more than any of the boards I'm hosting.
