Sure. I'm just trying to remember what the balance of power was in the late 1700's. Cromwell had well and truly come and gone so the resurgence in the Monarchy would have waned a little, but I think the majority of power was still in the crown rather than the Parliament, which didn't really ascend to its modern form until Victorian times?Fallakin Kuvari wrote:I was speaking of Parliament more than Royalty.

By that time it was the Parliament of Great Britain, and the majority of the power was in Royalty (George III).
