Which servers do you both play on? The lag in Ironforge during prime time on a high population server is beyond believe. But at a time that there are very few people there it's basically lagfree. It also seems that the amount of memory makes a big difference. In other words, you're both right.Amalia Kuso wrote:Have you been to Ironforge?never laggy

i have NEVER been to ironforge, at any point in the day or night, when it was NOT lagged all to hell. Sometimes it's better then others but most of the time i fall into the fucknig pit between the bank and AH. Even my griff rides are lagged, and riding into IF at high peak times i essentially lag out, takes 5 minutes for my screen to clear so i can turn and head for the bankMiriella wrote:Which servers do you both play on? Having a gig of RAM helps with that a lot. You still chunk for a few seconds while it loads up, but then it settles down pretty well.

I have a gig and a half...still doesn't help. I fall in that damn pit or run into the firepot all the time at that one minute freezeHaving a gig of RAM helps with that a lot.

I noticed that a few times but it seemed to stop happening last week. It's not really a freeze so much as a really long pause. Give it a minute and it clears up. Whatever was causing it though, I think they fixed it.DO NOT scroll with your mouse when looking for an item in the auction house. FREEZE central right there.

What's funny is I've experienced more downtime on Brell Rants than in WoW. Not that I'm complaining. It's free to post here after all. It's just a tad ironic.

Well when I logged into EQ2 Permafrost last night I saw an announcement for character/guild transfer service to ano server. Can't remember for the life of me the server named.. (EQ2 blockd by biz firewall).
So it looks like they are trying to alleviate lag/instancing issues on this server. Not sure about others w high usage tho..

Grobb is the English server, which is where my guild moved to, and apparently about half of Najena came too. /grumble

i have discovered what 'unholy lag' truely is, and nothing i've ever seen in EQ1 compares.
I play horde on Azgalor (PvP), the one time I was present for an Alliance raid on Ogrimmar it was horrid. I mean worse than an old school fear raid with all the spell effects on horrid.
other than that the lag seems to spike expectedly during raids on whatever town of the day, but normally its not so bad and we've rarely had any down time.

AD is one of or the highest pop server at this time. What was worse was the fucking warriors all making lvl 1 gnomes and standing on the bridge in IF between the bank and AH. I mean really if you're gonna protest PLEASE do it on a LOW population server =/
