I dunno - Vanille has a weird flirty/love thing with Fang too. She's just highly dangerous jailbat imo.
And Attacus can go die in a fire for tossing a doom counter on me with 2.5 million hp left...

I got him burnt down in about 6 and a half minutes.

Here's what I used:

Fang/Light/Snow - Fang with 15k hp and 2012 strength, Light with just under 13k hp and 1400 str/mag, Snow with just under 21k hp and 1200 str.
Start with Fortisol/Aegisol, and paradigm set to Dirty Fighting (SAB/COM/SEN). Debuff with slow/deprotect/deshell/curse, then swap to COM/RAV/RAV and work him down til you need heals.. then swap to COM/MED/SEN and heal up while Fang keeps burning.. then swap back and forth between Dirty Fighting and Attrition (SAB/MED/SEN) as needed for healing and when all 4 debuffs are on, use Offensive Screen (COM/COM/SEN) and burn him down.

Got Attacus today using Light/Sazh/Snow as COM/RAV/SEN or COM/SYN/SEN and COM/COM/SEN near the end to finish it off once the stagger gauge got to about 600%. Turns out he can't doom you if he's taunted on a non-main SEN. Snow's Mediguard was enough healing to not have to bother switching in a MED.

Now to go farm me some Trapezehedrons... Starting to think the platinum trophy may actually be attainable on this one.

Have you beaten the Gigantaur yet?

Holy shit, this thing is driving me nuts. I'm guessing I'll just have to keep fighting it until I get a stagger break. :/

Not yet. Still trying to get an adamantoise down so I can get the third level weapons. Those things have far too many hp.

Adamantoise is not immune to death. You can use Vanille's summon to take the legs out from under it and then spam cast death with her til it dies. I killed the one in Chapter 12 that way.

Seems such a cheap way to do it though. I'd be much happier if I could kill them without needing the summon to take the legs out (cause then I have to get another 3TP from somewhere, or burn an ethersol).

Well, the legs give out if you do a ton of damage to them, but Vanille's summon for whatever reason immediately takes the legs out when summoned. No idea why, it just does. Nothing wrong with spamming death to kill stuff, it's the only way I've been able to kill a Neochu thus far. However, I'm still stuck on the Gigantaur, so atm I've 5-starred missions 1 - 53 (even though my trophy card hasn't updated all weekend due to their maintenance). :(

Haha, as soon as I went back to try Gigantaur again, I got an instant stagger by using Light's Army of One skill, and just killed the Gigantaur w/ 5 stars. :D

Legs give out on any summon. The fastest kill I saw had Fang do her summon and debuff the crap out of it, go gestalt then instantly dismiss for 1,000,000 damage, then her and Light dropped enough damage to blow Cocoon out of the sky on it in about 10 seconds. That was with fully upgraded 3rd tier weaps though (6 ATB slots gives that away).

I've only got missions 61-64 left to do, but I'm kinda nervous about finishing them, because I don't want all the adamantoises to turn into the Long Gui's.

I still haven't found a better plan yet for killing the Adamantoises. Luckily, I'm strong enough now to kill them with Fang/Light/Sazh (so I don't have to death spam), but I still have to use a summon to knock them down first, and I've got Light and Fang's weapons both maxed, just waiting on a Trapz to drop so I can upgrade them to the top tier. :(

Finished all but 64 now (and haven't attempted 64). Can't even kill a leg on a Long Gui - the Rage/Ultima combo just blows me away. Have 1 trapz now, just need the 1.5 mill to convert it to 3 (then another 1.5 mill for another 3). At 1.1 mill at the moment.

Found farming the adamantoise in Eden is the easiest one - I just ran back and forward killing trash to get TP up between kills. Think it took about 20-30 to get a trapz to drop, and platinum ingots were a nice bonus.

The two trophies I don't think I'll bother with are 5 stars on all marks and touching every item in the game. I'd probably have to replay the game to get the latter now. :/

So long as you didn't sell any of the rings you should be able to get it, Dd.
Warlord Fallakin Kuvari - 85 Wood Elf Warrior, Brell Serilis forever.
Grandmaster Nikallaf Kuvari - 70 Iksar Monk.

Why wouldn't you do the all 5 stars one? The reward from mission 64 gives you the Gold Watch, which gives you more time so it's easier to get 5 stars. I've 5 starred 1-60 so far and only had to replay maybe 4 or 5 of them. You can use Deceptisol and get a PS on most of the targets.. just use Deceptisol on any that you don't have 5 stars on yet and it should be fairly easy.

Oh, and from what I've read.. the only items that you can't eventually buy are all scattered around in the treasure boxes on the plains.

EDIT #2: BTW, you can fully upgrade a Genji Glove and dismantle it to make a Trap, since you've already beaten 62 and 63. Just FYI.

No way I'm dismantling one of my Genji gloves! I have 3 of them now and always have them on each of my party members. Pretty sure you can't get any more than 3.

The trap multiplication thing is from some 3rd tier weapons being able to be dismantled to give 3 traps, and it costing a lot less than 2 million to do it.

Oh, yes. I'm quite aware. You can only get 3, but realistically.. who else needs one other than Fang and Lightning? The other characters generally spend their time in their default role more than in com/rav.

I'm still trying to get a Trap to drop, because I'm really itching to get Fang's Calamity Spear upgraded so I can dismantle it. I've got Lightning's Ultima Weapon maxed and waiting, as are Sazh's Polaris Specials, I'll then upgrade a Taming Pole to max so Fang has a good Tier 3 weapon.

Dunno - you're probably right but I just can't bring myself to toast one of them. I ended up going pure strength on Light and Fang which worked well except on physical resistant mobs.

That's a bad idea, considering Lightning is the best Ravager in the game. :(

I like Sazh (cause he has better alternative options), but may experiment more.

Sazh is your best Synergist, and he's a decent commando/ravager. He sucks ass at everything else though, but it's nice cause he gets Poison as a Sab, and Vanille is the only other Sab that gets it, iirc.

In other news, I've killed so many of these turtles, that I've almost maxed out my crystarium and still have not had one Trap drop. I broke my 3rd Genji Glove, used that trap to upgrade the Calamity Spear, and I just broke the fully upgraded Kain's Lance to upgrade to Omega Weapon, Total Eclipses, and another Kain's Lance (this time coming from the Taming Pole). It's decent, and now using Vanille as a healer, I can kill the turtles without summoning.. though I'm still too shy to try a Long Gui quite yet.
