Glad you've seen them Tekkon was really good. It was by a new, first time (if I remember correctly) American director who's living out there. They took a huge risk with him and it did well. I watched some of the making of and they were under intense pressure.
I only saw one of the movies, but what I saw, I liked for the beautiful designs and occasionally gorgeous animation. Most of it was limited animation. It's interesting and IMO good, but definitely can be classified as 'anime'. I don't remember any 'tee hee' moments, either. Still, I recommend watching everything Baggins and I suggested before you try D if you're not an anime person.
Edit: I believe most of it is limited animation, it's been awhile since I saw it. Most anime tends to be limited animation. While I understand and respect the design sense and money saving of limited, I prefer something fully animated like Miyazaki.

I don't really have any interest in these movies, but now that I know it will piss you off I'm going to download them all.

I honestly didn't find it very visually impressive or creative and the stories are pretty "meh" to me. Helpless chick unless she's evil, damsels in distress. yada yada. Vampire D as a character is pretty cool, but it's just that classic distant, angsty macho shit.
I think people that are crazy about vampires, just go mental for vampires in general.
I seriously doubt you will put the energy and resources into doing it. And if you do, I'll know you care too much.
As for your point, I realize that there are people out there who will download no matter what for whatever reason. People will always do illegal/unethical things. Who knows if Tax cares what I think of him, he probably doesn't, but that doesn't stop me from saying someone I respected (Tax in this case) has disappointed me.
Harlowe - wasn't there that badass vampire hunter woman? She had red hair, I think? D connected with her even though she wanted to kill him.
It's been so long since I've seen it, I honestly don't remember. What stood out was the damsel in distress bs and that they really did as little as possible with the environment or background animation.
I'm totally downloading this illegally right now. I so hope that it not only inspires disappointment in Select but also takes money directly out of her pocket. While I'm hoping, I might as well toss in there some hope that it also magically gives her some untreated dysentery too. Woohoo!
