Casting Depp as the mad hatter is retarded. There's so many people who were born for that role.

Gene Wilder
Christopher Lloyd
Tim Blake Nelson
etc.

Didn't Christopher Lloyd die?

Tim Burton fans are usually just mall goths that hang around Hot Topic and listen to bad, repetetive industrial techno that think his movies are cool because they pervert normal things that have been around forever like children's stories or Christmas movies or whatever. Trendy stuff bugs the hell out of me.
I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my ass.

No I don't believe he's dead, and I resemble none of the people you described, and I'm a Tim Burton fan. I guess sometimes I just get sick of all the other stuff and I like Tims Style. I'm not saying I want to watch Nightmare Before Christmas and The Corpse Bride every day, but I still appreciate his style.

Also Big Fish is a family favorite around here

I am pretty sure he meant the fangirls/boys, not the plain vanilla fans that just appreciate his work.

How about the non-conformist trend? How do you feel about that one?

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind people being different, but if you have to draw attention to the fact that you try to be different, you're not cool, or edgy. You're just a douchebag.

Its hard for people in our system to be individuals. It causes many people alot of strife when they find out there's nothing super unique about them - or any more than the 90 year old guy in a wheelchair right next to them.

I know a guy who always has to be 'on top' as far as any conversation goes. Like... you show him a band, and he's like "oh... thats nice. They're almost as good as (INSERT NAME HERE)"

MY STYLE IS BETTER THAN YOURS LOL

But it happens! And as always, they're usually the shunned and the loner-types.

It depends on the extent someone goes to look different. I've got a few piercings and some out of the ordinary outfits, and occasionally dye my hair unnatural colors, but, I'm not one of those people who will go out and spend hundres of dollars on a wardrobe of lime green furry boots and pleather shirts, etc. Of course, just wearing a band t-shirt and jeans where I live is considered weird and over the top.

Not individual just unprofessional.

I'm square like a Rubik's Cube, which is more than enough individuality for this planet. Seriously. Have you seen how weird some of you are in daylight?

Saw the new preview/teaser for this movie.

Looks awful.

They should just rename it "MAD HATTER: THE MOVIE. HOLY SHIT DAWG THATS JOHNNY DEPP!"

Hahaha.

Let me guess, that chick with the weird face is in it too. Whatsher name. She is the evil wench in Harry Pottery who killed Sirius Black. Helena Bonham Carter. Seems she's getting some Burton dick and he wants to reward his pet . . . over and over again.

Go away woman. I liked you in Frankenstein but you're abusing your own typecast of weird, kooky, eccentric female role. Fuck off. Rinse. Repeat.

Nah, her best role was in Merlin.

Her best role is when she played the dark mysterious woman...

I agree Gar, it looks awful.

I like Helen Bonham Carter best in period pieces or fantasy - like Merlin, HP, Frankenstein, or the plethora of period pieces (which she just seems to blend into perfectly ) she's been in like; Howards End, Wings of the Dove, the Heart of Me, Hamlet, A Room with View, Lady Jane, Where Angels Fear to Treat and I think at least one other Shakespeare on the BBC like Henry III.

I like her quirkiness it's so non-traditional Hollywood starlet. She's just an odd duck in general.

Yes, I love her in the period pieces. Loved her in Hamlet too. I see her now and think, "oh, she's going to play a total weirdo," and it's just old. Someone get her a corset again.
