Re: FEMA Fraud
The reports clearly address who he worked for, GOPUSA and Talon News. Even if you think he's phony, he really is a reporter. FEMA's scam is huge compared to Guckert. They are not even in the same ballpark.
Marilyn Monroe had unvetted access to the White House and the President, Partha. Monica Lewinsky had unvetted access to Bill Clinton's pants. The bottom line is, if someone has been granted access, we (the public and the media) are in the dark. The terms and conditions of their access is private information between the Secret Service, the Administration and the individual. Do I like that? No, but it is really none of our business.
Comparing access to the White House and a fundraiser with a shady past is again a huge reach and does not work in this context.

Re: FEMA Fraud
But while we are on a roll with this......he never had a permanent press pass......for which congresional approval is required. He received a "daily" pass.......for which no approval outside of the Executive is required. So the "law" you cite is basically worthless since it applies to the WH denial of a permamnent press pass based on security reasons.Partha wrote:Guckert had none of those things, however, Kulaf. But thanks for emphasizing the point for me.

Funny that Kulaf is making the whole Guckert thing seem even worse than Partha is.

Not a matter of making it better or worse......just a matter of getting the facts straight.....pardon the pun.

Re: FEMA Fraud
So on one side, we have a single reporter getting a daily press pass. And he shares time with other reporters that are free to ask question he didn't. On the other side, we have a completely staged press conference, with no legit reporters allowed to ask questions.
And Partha says the two are equal in magnitude? Sorry, can't buy it. Both we're wrong, on some level, but the FEMA fiasco was orders of magnitude worse, especially given that it didn't matter what one single "reporter" did or didn't ask with his questionable daily pass, since there were many other legit reporters there to cover topics he didn't.

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

No, I'm saying that's two posts in this thread you've refused to read or been unable to read where I've written otherwise. And Partha says the two are equal in magnitude?

If you're saying the two are both wrong, but the FEMA fiasco is much worse than some shithead flying under the radar and getting a daily press pass, then we are in agreement.
Glad you see it my way.

No, I'm saying the two are both wrong, and the FEMA thing was to be expected. Why you're shocked is pretty funny, considering how little you cared about the Gannon story. They took your silence for agreement is all.
