You exaggerate the problem and then advocate a solution that would do more damage than the actual problem. Those days are over.

Republicans accounted for 47% of the earmarks. About the same proportion as the number of seats they hold in congress.

Yes. But some of the largest individual requestors of earmarks also voted no on the bill "because it was full of earmarks."
