Do you really think it's unreasonable for a person to be offended or defensive when you use a charged word like "delusional"?
I might have used a word like "delusional" when talking about religion when i was a teenager, but it's an unnecessarily hurtful term and does absolutely nothing to nurture a discussion. Show some awareness. Show some maturity. And tell your Rabbi friend to get out more. He seems to have the same sterile textbook view of things that you have, being "flabbergasted" because someone doesn't like being called "delusional".
You made a flippant comment and derailed an otherwise good discussion by refusing to apologize.
It is entirely possible that there is a bit of the proverbial Ivory Tower in myself and my colleagues.
Having said that, I do not see a reason to apologize for the previous misunderstanding of my meaning and context. The rapid transition from being offended at a word to stupid irrelevant accusations related to credibility tend to expose their misunderstanding as persons attempt to change the direction of the discussion.
If your skin is so soft that a word, properly used in definition and context and not designed to hurt, causes you to be offended then a theological or philosophical debate is the wrong place for you.

That "feeling" is paranoia and in the absence of evidence to the contrary is a delusion.

And yeah, there's something with this guy that doesn't sit right with me. Of course my hunches went from 100% before the brain injury to more like 80% now. But I have a good feeling about this hunch. I get the same creepy-heebie-jeebies possible-psychopath vibe, and my hunch says that there's some revelation out there that will support that vibe when and if that revelation ever comes out.
This "hunch" is as fictional as your God and, in my opinion, cowardly. You have no evidence to support wild accusations with no good intention behind them but to discredit anything I may post. Don't be so butt hurt that you must toss away your previously highly regarded civility in favor of a self perceived check mark next to the "win" box for this particular debate.
