Fivethirtyeight has shown the chances of Reps taking the Senate at just a little over a coin toss for the past few weeks. Now, however, they are breaking big for the Republicans. Pretty sure its going to be a Rep Congress in both houses now. This was absolutely a referendum on Obama. When you can't get Dem candidates to even admit they voted for him, you know it's bad for them.
They deserve what's coming to them. If the Reps don't jack it up, they'll have the Oval office and control of both houses in 2016. Obama is dismantling the Democrats. He's the best thing that ever happened to the Rep party.

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

I think you're right on the Hill. President is a different thing with new faces in the mix - a lot of personality counts there and parties have been known to back dumbasses before.

I don't have a "base". I see the options. The Dems are going to put up Hilary again. There is no way I am voting for her, so I would like to have a viable alternative.
Susan has worked with the senators from my state and represents most of my positions well. She has proven that she can work with both sides of the aisle and stick to her core values. I see her as a viable Presidential candidate.
She would however need to pick a VP from the South to appeal to a wider base of voters. Not sure who that would be atm.

Well, at least now we know what it takes to get a Republican governor to lose an election: Shelter a kiddyfucker and fire your kids teachers, while accomplishing NOTHING on the Republican agenda except a TRAP law. Silver lining to the upcoming austerity recession is Corbett losing the state I live in. Granted, his 10 point loss was only half of what the polls predicted, but I'll take it.
