And how thick is that new ice sheet?
Let's read about David Rose:

Re: Global cooling is the new global warming
What else can I find with 10 minutes of searching:
So yes, the ice sheet is bigger this year when compared to the smallest it has EVER been in modern record. Bravo.NSIDC wrote:Sea ice extent for August 2013 averaged 6.09 million square kilometers (2.35 million square miles). This was 1.03 million square kilometers (398,000 square miles) below the 1981 to 2010 average for August, but well above the level recorded last year, which was the lowest September extent in the satellite record. Ice extent this August was similar to the years 2008 to 2010. These contrasts in ice extent from one year to the next highlight the year-to-year variability attending the overall, long-term decline in sea ice extent.

Make your own judgments. Raw data from Cryosphere Today:
Looks awfully like there was an anomalous August melt last year that they've compared this August to.

Embar, are you seriously going to stay on the climate-change denier, knuckledraggers train? Come on..

Re: Global cooling is the new global warming
I never denied there was climate change. The climate is always changing. Its been warmer before, its been colder before, and it will be that way again. My issue is blaming it all on man-made emissions, then making years-ahead predictions in a science we have trouble making weekly predictions. Seems to me every time a climate scientist makes a prediction of gloom and doom, and it doesn't come to pass, well, that's just a little anomaly.

How about this Embar.......we don't blame it ALL on human emissions. We just blame human emissions for rapidly accelerating a possible natural trend?
Because that is what IS actually being claimed.

Exactly. You are seriously still going to disagree with the 97% of scientists that are saying we are contributing to it...really? Just because that is what your party interest is pushing?Kulaf wrote:How about this Embar.......we don't blame it ALL on human emissions. The warming isn't natural, it's man made.Embar Angylwrath wrote:I never denied there was climate change. The climate is always changing. Climate science doesn't deal in weeks, it deals in decades. Just because you can't predict when a mother will give birth doesn't mean you don't know the population is increasing.
One scientist predicted an ice-free Arctic in 2013, and was criticized at the time by the established community. It didn't happen, as predicted by the models at the time. Now the deniers are lying by claiming his prediction was mainstream. Business as usual for the denial liars.
The mainstream predictions are very clear, and are happening. The earth is warming and is continuing to warm.

Embar refusing to acknowledge reality? I'm shocked.

With this issue, I think it's a pride thing. Too long being on the wrong side of an issue to bend now.

Re: Global cooling is the new global warming
Post 1990 there has been a significant natural cooling trend (thanks to El Nino effects), which have masked some of the true warming. Refer Kosaka and Xie (2013, Nature, doi:10.1038/nature12534).
