Oh wait, its EA....
Actually, the console port of D3 will have an offline single player mode.

Edit: On topic for SC, I was looking forward to it, until of course I heard about the always-online bs. Too bad, because I've heard the game is actually decent when it works.

I read they've had to disable "non-critical" features to get it working.

That doesn't help those of us with the PC version and no plans to give Blizzard any more of our damn money.

My guess is that's how they planned it and why they waited nearly a year to announce the offline version they swore would never happen. You won't give them more money, but plenty of others will. Especially if the single-player version fixes item drops.

To tell the truth, the biggest problem with it isn't even the always-on DRM or the fact the servers have crapped out. Even if it was all working perfectly, the fact your city size maxes out in under an hour of game time makes it completely pointless.

Still tone deaf IMHO. Like saying "We're going to look into not shitting on you in order to earn back your trust."

First, I love when one of our Vikings is not only supportive of the gay community (He quit his column/blog at Pioneer Press in in protest over the paper's editorial in support of the same-sex marriage ban amendment), but he's also an avid gamer (if you've seen him on Reddit, you know he's Loate in WoW).

Here is his article on geeksmash re: SimCity - http://geeksmash.com/video-games/simcit ... -kluwes821

Second, can they get anymore shady. Just admit what it's there for (anti-piracy and THAT'S it) and stop doing the splainaway bullshit.
