Ok, first update. 9 days in, 9 pounds down. Verified by my trainer. Made some lifestlyle changes (smaller portions, no soda being the big ones) and I've been mixing cardio and strength stuff. No, you won't get pictures - there is a reason.Minute wrote:Sorry to hear about your leg bro. I know that feel. You should post though. Buddy of mine just dropped 80 lbs in the last year and a half & said the social pressures & praise from him updating was half of his motivation to continue. I typically encourage people to get some form of forum going, whether it be online or local community where they do weekly progress pictures. Most people would defect, change their names, and move to Antarctica before posting a relapse picture in public. It works.Partha wrote:Just to update - I fell, hurt my leg pretty badly, haven't been doing much exercise between that and depression symptoms.
Finally went January third and joined a fitness club and am getting regular workouts with a trainer. Probably won't update this for a while, I have about 18 months of work to do.
And the flip side is the inspiration a big win has on people. A lady I know who popped out a kid last year (and got way bigger than she should have) dropped 63 lbs over the last year & has 5 other women doing the same thing just because of how amazing the results were. It's good stuff.

... seems like that is pretty reaching to me. Contribute? Maybe. But on any kind of real scale that matters? I seriously doubt it. If someone told me they were fat because they weren't around enough plants I'd poke them in their stomach & wait for the giggle.Arathena wrote:Something interesting that I just saw today, exposure to CO2 appears to cause weight gain, by interfering with the satiety system.
Now, it's a fairly well established fact that the length of your daily commute tends to directly correlate to your weight, with a number of factors boiled into it including a decrease in exercise time, the basic sedentiaryness of driving, etc, but you're also basically mired in a high concentration of CO2 during it, which can't possibly help either.
Maybe having the right potted plants at home in whatever rooms you spend the most time in is a good idea...

Nothing replaces calories in < calories out for weight loss, no. But when every little bit helps...Minute wrote:... seems like that is pretty reaching to me. Contribute? Maybe. Blech. I seriously couldn't finish an entire cup. The aftertaste was rancid. Whatever gets ya through though. Those Choc. Chip Cookie Dough ones are plenty of sweetness for me.Harlowe wrote:Minute, I actually kind of liked the PB cup ones for dealing with a candy craving. I freeze them and have it with a coffee. But the novelty wore off after the first shipoment, and I've had the same box for a couple months now.
