Okay, so since I have some extra time on my hands, I loaded up WoW again, got the expansions and such. They totally reset my skillset for my highest character and I'm so fuggin' lost! I left the game before Cataclysm came out, so I need to start there.
Anyone else play that can suggest an easy way to transition back?
Also, I need an awesome shadow-priest build and an awesome healing build. Any suggestions? If I recall, I had dual skills that I could switch between. I google these skillsets and people vary so much on what they suggest. I trust you guys far more!

Re: New WoW Expansion
Easiest way is to just play...
Seek out the "Commander's Board" in your capital city. It should look like a public square message board. Stormwind has one next to the auction hall and bank. Orgrimmar is across from the bank in Valley of Strength (I think).
That board presents areas appropriate to your level and quests to get you started that direction.
You might check out MaxDPS for DPS builds. That site has a lot of legit information.
Have fun and good luck!

Re: New WoW Expansion
Unless your highest character is a Hunter, it shouldn't be that bad. I would suggest checking out some sites like Elitest Jerks if you want some discussion on builds. I stopped playing before the expansion, but I went through the build generator and it is not that bad. Seems oversimplified if anything.

Thanks guys! I just need to reorient myself. Geesh. I have no idea what spells do what. I guess it's time to go to a lower level area and just horse around.

Re: New WoW Expansion
That's what I always have to do Allu. I have to make new lowbies to get a feel for it, learn general spells/skills and how they work together, traveling etc, then I can hop back into a higher level. But honestly, I'll do like 10-15 levels (at least) on a new character before I'll slip back into a high level one again.
I'm dragging my feet trying to decide if I want to do EQ EMU, EQ2 or WoW.... so that means I just reloaded Morrowind and some mods. I don't think I ever finished the Bloodmoon expansion, but it's been so long I don't recall! Also for the Winter, I have to do Dragon Age all over because my harddrive went teeeets up when I was nearing the end. This was after playing through 3/4's of the game twice - with a fighter and mage.
At least I finished Skryim and some DLC's but not the Dragonborn DLC yet.

Thanks Harlowe. Not a bad idea. I may try a panda for fun. I haven't tried Morrowind, btw. Any good?

Re: New WoW Expansion
Morrowind is probably one of my favorite games of all time and is also a Game of the Year winner. It's a great game, especially when you tweak it with some appearance and ambience mods. The storyline is epic. It's fun, you interact with just about everything in the game, so you can fill your house(s) with whatever crap you want to collect on the way.
There is a big "Morrowind Overhaul 3.0" mod, that was a few years in the making and it combines a huge number of favorite mods together in one pack. I haven't tried that yet (has anyone here?). I would highly recommend doing a few of the popular mods for appearance and sound before playing though, because the textures and character appearances have been vastly improved with just a couple mods. It's super easy to add them now as well if you download the "Nexus Mod Manager" and download your mods via the Nexus site.
I lost my list of favorites, but here are a few good ones I used and few new ones that are highly rated -
http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/top/
>Morrowind Graphics Extender
>Morrowind Code Patch
>Real Signposts
>THE Facepack Compilation - this one is one of the top downloads, but I haven't tried it yet
>Better Bodies
>Morrowind Comes Alive
>Tamriel Rebuilt Map 3 - Sacred East
>Morrowind epic ladies - I just have this one loaded right now, not sure if it interfers with THE Facepack Compilation, might unselect this and go for the big compilation
>MEL Hair Pack
Keep in mind, these are all appearance type mods. Not weapon, fighting or armor - there are virtually hundreds of mods to tweak the game.

Re: New WoW Expansion
Morrowind is truly one of the best single player sandbox RPGs around. Even though it predates Oblivion and Skyrim, I feel the story is much richer and better written.

Re: New WoW Expansion
You truly feel like an epic character with a rich storyline in the game. Much moreso than any other game I've played.
