In the corner of the poster you can see old Spock pointing at Khaaaaaaaan, and saying I told you so.

They later send him, and his followers to the planet the American Indians inhabit during ST Voyager. Have them fuck up the Cardasians, and close the wormwhole. It should be a 30 minute movie if they listen to what Old Spock tells them to do.

Im actually surprised they didn't use "Rises" somewhere in the title.

While I'm at it, let's start casting for the re-reboot of Star Trek.

Kirk will be played by Channing Tatum
Spock will be played by Taylor Lautner
Sulu will be played by a white person ala Cloud Atlas makeup.
Uhura will be played by Willow Smith
Chekov will be played by Jeremy Renner
Scotty will be fully CGI and voiced by Mike Meyers doing his patented "Scottish" accent. (Meal ticket, boyyyeeee)

Wouldn't a reboot of NextGen be logically the next thing to pursue?

New trailer up

Apparently the word "Trek" in Star Trek = Vertical movement. There's so much jumping off cliffs/falling in the trailer.

I especially like how it tells us absolutely fucking nothing about the plot. Probably because the movie doesn't have one.

Please elaborate. How is an accurate assessment of the trailer being a "Debbie downer?" And what else have I said to reinforce this perception?

I would watch Star Trek it even if there was no plot. Come to think of it, Star Trek has never been too deep on plot.

Eh I just saw a few grumpypants posts while browsing politics, and then this. Probably just reading too much into it. Glad you are all cheer and fuzzballs if we are wrong!

Despite my rampant cynicism I was enjoying this movie until about the last quarter of it. After that my eyes were rolled so far back into my head I could see the people behind me groaning.

*EDIT*

Whoa, gotta adjust that sig a bit.
