Like I said, I'm playing on Vox cause it was too hard to jump back into my old Shaman. My ranger is now 82 with almost 700 aa, and I've got a level 60 enchanter box alt I've been leveling up.

Also, my ranger and a level 95 necro duo'd the entire Fennin Ro event in Fire. Lulz.

LOL, reminds me of doing Fennin - I think it was around the Omens release? - with the usual undersize PA raid group, Saphida following us the whole way wailing about how we were going to blow the event for the week, since we couldn't possibly do the job with only one warrior and three clerics. Except, you know, we did. I wound up tanking Fennin from about half health to death - while about 60% of the parseable healing I got that fight came from the lone shaman.

That one tasted like ambrosia.

Still playing, still having a blast. 89.4 level, closing in on 1500 AA -- and that includes some considerable downtime.

And yes, I went gold. $14.99 is a bargain these days for a month's worth of this level of entertainment.

Yes, there is a lot* of new stuff in the game. But a lot* of this new stuff adds convenience and fun at staggering levels. As a Ranger, headshot is only the beginning. (In some ways, I think it's the worst thing to happen since I've been gone, but I liked how notoriously difficult Rangers were to level in the old days. Misery loves company and all that.)

We get a fade. We get a knockback spell with a 100% chance to root and then memblur the MOB. We have heals that actually HEAL. We finally have an indoor harmony (pacify). Hell, we even get a toy pet spell. (Something asked for for YEARS.)

And it's a lot like that for other classes, it seems. Monks can mez, just for one example.

Be sure and look me up if you get the chance. I'm usually on during daytime hours CST.

So true, $14.99 is super cheap for a month of entertainment. I keep going back and forth whether I want to give EQ1 or EQ2 another run for the Winter. Nothing more fun than having a game addiction during the Winter in MN...helps fend off cabin fevah. I just can't decide which I'd rather mess around in.

It's good, but I'm at 84 and stuck now. Can't solo efficiently anywhere, and if I can actually solo it, it takes 3-4 mobs for 1% exp. AA is still easy, but I need levels. I have a level 85 sword and bow in my bag that I can't equip yet that will up my DPS a lot.

Max headshot, and get thee to Dragonscale Hills.

I was still headshotting the Mino Fort for AA at 88. At 84, get the kill quests from the dude in the tower by all the wind nymphs.

Nymphs are also headshottable. They're what you want at 84. Set to regular XP and go nuts.

As a bonus, I could clear 20K plat easily just clearing the mino fort for a few hours, and I once did 60K in a day to buy the BP I'm currently wearing.

Finally, if the mino fort is taken, learn to do the mino mines. They're a little slower, but are *never* camped. And eventually, you can do a quest to get a cool mino illusion clickie by killing the big bad named.

My headshot is maxed, and I'm 50% into 84. Can I headshot them reliably? If so, hell yeah, I'll hop on that shit.

Yep, and the Nymphs come prepacked into tight 2-3 spawns (with a couple 1 spawns up by the tower entrance) just made for Vinelash.

Watch out for Delilah Windrider. She's the only named nymph I've seen, but she seems to be able to pop in any of the spawns.

Oh, and as for headshotting reliably: I'm 90 now, and the sentries in Kurn's Tower are the first MOBs I've encountered which take more than one headshot trigger to kill. (And my normal headshot damage is around 140K now.)

I can't wait to hit 85. I've got a Steamwork Compound Bow right now, but as soon as I hit 85, I can equip the Heartwood Bow in my bag. :D

So I haven't been keeping up with the game really, but I did google that Heartwood Bow and it looks like item stats are back to "normal" now? I mean last time I played I was level.. 70-ish and had stuff with like +200 stamina.

Don't know of anything with that kinda stam, Tax... But everything seems to have ridiculous HP/Mana/End values on it now. It's easy to get into the 1kHP an item range.

As is my tendency, I fell ass backwards into a fantastic guild of cool folks, that are currently leveling the shit out of me. 71-75 in like an hour. It is ridiculous. You should come back, Tax!

I tried playing again. Can't do it. It just makes me nostalgic and sad - nearly all of the RL friends I played with I'm no longer in contact with, and one of them is even dead.

I will say that the first thing I did when I logged in was take Jarochai's happy ass to Befallen, and the first thing I did when I got there was accidentally fall down the well. Some things never change. :D

So, I went to the Nymph camp last night. All light blue, no big deal. Killed 2 or 3 to try it out, got the quest to kill 10 of them, killed those 10 plus like 10 more. Grand total of 1% regular exp, including taking experience as the quest reward. Wat.

Ah, I think I was just confusing HP and Stamina. I thought they did a whole scale shift on the number or something.

How the hell do you all remember the interface and spells and buttons and crap? Last time I logged into EQ, I had no idea WTF any of my spells did. Or what the icons were.

I started completely over with a class I'd never played on a brand new server to re-learn everything.

Come back, Tax. Join us... You know you want to. Play the precious... Err, I mean EQ.

I created a ranger, because headshot just seems entirely overpowered for farming, which I'm terrible at.
