SATA/IDE

i am sure i've already asked this so bear with me if i am being redundant. i have a laptop with SATA drive. i have an old hdd that is IDE. how can i get the data on the IDE to the SATA?

Your best bet is probably to hook up the IDE drive to a USB port and copy the data that way. Something like this would work: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6812232002

Just buy a new one. Seriously how big is the HD? If it's old enough to be IDE I am betting it's not very big & you could probably buy a brand new bigger better one.

minute it's not the space i want. i want the files that are on it. there's a lot of stuff on it i wish to keep.

Got a USB drive? Got a friend with an older PC? Problem solved.
