Need about 50,000,000 acres to sustain the current US demand for gasoline. That's actually not too unreasonable - 2.5% of the US land area.

Clearly skimmed it.
That said, you'd have to factor in land costs, facility costs and such for mass production. I'm not so sure it'd stick around the 60 cent a gallon mark, but it'd certainly be much better than current options.
