Re: More Hope and Change
It's possible its someone new around here, I've linked this board a few times to a friend of mine and I wouldn't be all that surprised if he had started up an account with a name like MeGusta.

Lets just say he hasn't been happy with either party.

Re: More Hope and Change
So are you admitting you brought in a support person? A friend of someone's would make sense since he came in with a chip on his shoulder, like someone who has been here before. It's just beyond unlikely someone new and unexposed to the board would found this place.

Re: More Hope and Change
I didn't bring in a support person, I merely showed him the board and some things I've posted.
Also, I could be wrong that MeGusta is someone I know. Its merely a possibility.

Re: More Hope and Change
Fair enough. Something has always felt odd about him, especially his magical appearance and no comment as to where he came from. I mean it's an old Brell board, someone new that wasn't directed here by someone else or a puppet account for a previous member, would be beyond odd. Who comes here and posts regulary that never played EQ?

Re: More Hope and Change
No one, to my memory. Except bots, of course. I tend to agree the poster is a former active member of the board. Not sure who though. There is something Rsakian in the poster's grammar and sentence creation though. Although the thin skin evident in the posts could be either Jecks or Rsak.Harlowe wrote:Fair enough. Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Re: More Hope and Change
This is fascinating. Why so much speculation as to my identity?
Harlowe, you know that I have already told you that I have lurked for a long time on these boards. I do not know where you have gotten the idea that I have never played EQ. I do not think I was asked.
Perhaps you have a litmus test for people who finally decide to post?
Harlowe, you are being particularly disingenuous since your PM'ed me with a celebratory welcome message when I posted something you apparently agreed with.
Embar, my skin is quite thick, I assure you. I have given no indication otherwise. Perhaps you have misinterpreted the tone of my missives?
Fallakin, I am not the person you indicated but I am not happy with either party. I would tend to be very socially progressive and I hesitate to say fiscally conservative because while I would cut the deficit I would tend to also raise revenue streams and I would apply cuts differently than a typical republican.
I hope this satisfies. I am neither Jecks nor Rsak though I knew of both from the board and one from another game.

Re: More Hope and Change
The real question is why do you talk like you have a giant stick in your ass? Some of the stuff you've said actually made me think about things, which I like, but the way you type it out makes me second guess even the things I do agree with you about because it's in such a douchey overtone. I keep picturing you oiling a Snidely Whiplash mustache when I read your posts.

It is quite possibly the result of over education which to some may sound "douchey". I make no apologies for it, however.

I think that most of your prenatal development probably occurred in a douche bag.

Re: More Hope and Change
No that was sincere, because I thought you were going to be a dry and amusing wise-ass, which I always enjoy, but you just seem oddly bitter and pompous. Oh well. Troll, Fallakin’s friend or previous member with a chip on his shoulder…..hard to tell, but there is something more to your appearance than a simple lurker that came out of the closet to dazzle everyone with his unapologetic "over education".

Sorry to disappoint. If I had read in the rules anywhere that my presence was only to be tolerated if I amused you, then I would have made a better attempt at it.

Guess the unions don't like the Hope and Change being offerred up either. Looks like they are changing the way they fund "Change". Personally, I think this is more grandstanding than actual substance. The unions know that they have to support Dems financially, and hold thier noses doing it, because the alternative is worse. This is probably nothing more than chest thumping and positioning to extract from Dems more legislation that preserves their dysfunctional and outdated organizations.
But we'll see how it goes. I hope I'm wrong and the unions actually DO pul a good portion of financial support from Dem candidates. I wouldn't put it past them. They aren't known for dealing with reality, and have preferred to take 100% of nothing than 70% of something on quite a few occassions.

They'll be the Dems version of the Tea Party......what should we call them? Labocrats?
I would not be surprised in the least if they try to form a Labor party.

The Me Party would be an even more extreme offshoot of the Tea Party.
