Obama said that US involvement in Libya would last days, not weeks. That was March. http://abcnews.go.com/International/lib ... d=13164938
And here we still are. By handing over the reins to the UN, Obama guaranteed the US would be there far longer than we need to be. North Africa anyone?

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

I think that this action/non-action is a huge mistake for his administration.
Devout believers are safeguarded in a high degree against the risk of certain neurotic illnesses; their acceptance of the universal neurosis spares them the task of constructing a personal one. ~Sigmund Freud

Re: Obama and Libya
I don't understand the endgame in Libya. I actually don't understand the endgame in Iraq or Afghanistan either for that matter. It's a general issue where doing "something" looks like the "right thing to do" and doing "nothing" is almost certainly the "wrong thing to do" but there's no clear indication of what to do after you go in...
Having said all of that, I don't know what the viable alternatives were. Acting in a secondary role to the French could have worked seeing they were all gung-ho?
