Hey look, the dog won't give up his bone! Isn't that cute.

First of all, Wyden never said an "Oregon healthcare alternative is imminent". What he did say in his letter is that he knows the Oregon Health Policy Board may soon send a benefit package proposal to the legislature. Since the citizen board is working on that proposal now he wanted to let the board know that he would support them on seeking an innovation waiver under the section of the ACA he authored, and that he was attempting to accelerate the date the waiver goes into affect (from 2017 to 2014). He did this because that information will play a huge part in shaping the scope of the plan the board comes up with.

So Harlowe was right. You've really given nothing but assumptions based on pure ignorance. First that Wyden had reversed himself on mandates when he hadn't, and then that Wyden was lying about an imminent healthcare alternative when he never made any such claim. Bottom line is, you are just parroting anti-reform propaganda and Wyden's "Missing the Point" rebuttal was aptly titled.

And yeah, I know I said I was done replying to you on this, but you're just too fucking stupid to pass up. ;) I have a feeling you're going to get dumber and more extreme (just look at this Mosque issue. My LORD are you incoherent on that!) as we get closer to your extremist Party doing well in November.

Await a response to what? You keep saying the same thing as if that somehow supports what you've already said just because you keep repeating it.

There hasn't been a single add run by any Democrat since April (Harry Reid), that lauds the benefits of healthcare reform. The only time any Democrat mentions healthcare reform now is if they voted against it (or, as in Wyden's casre, point to an "out") Somehow I doubt Wyden is the meverick here. Democrats are looking for any means possible to disntance themselves from thier involvement in the healthcare vote... again, unless they voted against it, and they aren't bashful about cuhirping about that. I see the timing of the letter as nothing more than political positioning, ESPECIALLY since the wiaver can't take place until 2017 as it currently stands.

Election gimmick, that's all it was.

Just a reminder - they have to do more than say "I voted against it". They have to say "I will vote to repeal it".

I think so.

In case Ddrak needs additional info... Rep. Taylor signed a petition to force a vote on legislation he co-sponsored that would repeal the ACA entirely. He has news of this signing on his official website.

Yeah - sorry Lurker. Besides - you don't need me if you're both going to agree on the outcome anyway.

I'm disappointed by the lack of support for a cohesive national health care system in the US. Hopefully things can migrate to something better in the long term.

I got lucky with the odds. All I had to do is show one person that would campaign on repeal. I thought there might be someone challenging an incumbent that would make a statement on repeal, but I never thought a current Dem Rep/Senator would do so.

I wonder if there will be more.

Grats on the win, Embar! And while the douche in Mississippi won't succeed in getting the ACA repealed, he did succeed in getting $100 donated to your charity. Receipt is below.

Another campaigns on repeal of Obamacare. He even uses the term "Obamacare".
West Virginia Senate candidate blasts healthcare law: West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin (D), who is in a tough fight for a Senate seat, said Monday he'd support repealing the healthcare reform law if it can't be fixed. "The president's plan — 'Obamacare,' as it's been called — is far too reaching. It's overreaching. It needs to have a lot of it repealed," Manchin said Monday on Fox News. "If you can't fix that, repeal the whole thing."
