Again - people freaking out (unnecessarily IMO) about privacy issues. Apparently some data (network names, MAC addresses, and some "personal" information) was collected from unsecured wireless networks when google was driving around taking shots for its street view stuff.

Boo fucking hoo people! If you are that worried about your data you should be securing your network with a password.

Apparently a class action lawsuit was just announced as well. Bullshit~

Riding home from work last week I turned on my phone's wifi radio, and checked it periodically as I passed through residential areas. It was appalling how many unsecured networks showed up just in passing. Some even had street addresses or family names set as their SSID.

We had a guy come in at our Help Desk a while back and he ended up telling us where he lived and what his normal passwords are including his current wifi password.

Then again, the guy also thought accounting was hard.
