Agree on all counts!! Jessica definitely grew on me, I couldn't stand her to begin with and now I want to see more of her and Hoyt and less Sookie and Bill. All they do is moon over each other in the most irritating non-sexy way.

More Eric too please!
Eric has been my favorite mainish character. Always raged in season 1 when they didn't give him as much camera time. I hope they develop Terry some more. I enjoy his character as well.
Also what do we think is going to happen with the male mindreader (forgot his name)? Is he dead? Locked away somewhere because they found out about him (ala Lafayette)?
I think the show is better than the books, the books are just your typical trashy beach/cabin reading material. But like the show, you are almost more interested in the supporting characters than Sookie. Seriously, most of the time, she's either mooning over someone in the most nauseating way or throwing a major hissy fit.
A few big book spoiler things, which may or may not happen in the series....!

After about the third or fourth book, she treats Bill like utter shit and he keeps coming back for more, he continues protecting her and being an all around door mat to her moody immature bs - while she hooks up with a few shapeshifter assholes (not Sam though). I think he dates a little, but is always pining for her. She holds a grudge over him because he admits to her that originally he was sent by the Vampire Queen of Louisiana to Bon Temps to get close to Sookie, but then (he tells her) that he fell in love with her. Well, from that point on it seems no matter what he says or does, he's unable to make it up to her for that first "mistake" or "betrayal". In either book four or five, she hooks up with Eric though and that relationship is really fun. Even in the latest book from this year, it's unsure which way she is going to go - Eric or Bill. In the last one she is just starting to feel like maybe she was too hard on Bill and that he really does love her.
I was at my local book store earlier this week and was going to buy the first book, but it was $14 for a paperback. Just ordered the first two for $5 on half.com. I really like this series, so hopefully the books will keep me entertained as well.

I loved Season 1. I wasn't expecting to, but it definitely grew on me. Season 2 has been a whole crapload of cheese. It's pretty much taken a nosedive, which is sad because the show has a lot of potential that's being wasted.

The show is getting better for sure. And all I know is that I want to mount and fuck that blond church bitch's face until there's nothing but sin left in her. Holy shit she is hot. Stackhouse better do more than just get a handjob.

I loved seeing how Eric was made. Awesome that he was a Viking.
Bill and Sookie are kind of falling flat for me. Perhaps it will open up the door for Sookie and Eric. Sam and Daphne were far more hot.
Wonder what happened to telepathy guy. Wonder if he was involved with whoever the "informant" is.

Yeah, I've been waiting for Jason to nail her forEVER now. Old Jason would have been all over that.
I agree, the show is getting more complex and interesting, imho.
Just watched the first couple episodes of this last night and am hooked. Pretty interesting plot line up so far and lots of man candy (ala Jason). I love how they show him off, every scene he's been in so far they give you at least a little skin.
I was reading over some of the earlier posts and saw that Lafayette dies?? That sucks, he's been a pretty funny character so far.

he's not dead, at least not so far in Season 2. =)
onice!
So far, I really like all of the characters except Anna Paquin's. Her power is really cool and all but she's just a little too "dumb blonde cheerleader" for my taste. Bill is kind of annoying too, why does there always have to be that "emo" element in vampire stories?
The guy that owns the bar is pretty fun/hot too - I'm assuming he's that crazy dog or something? He's always smelling shit and definitely has a secret.

Sookie gets more firm and sensible (at least somewhat), imho. Some of my favorite scenes are her telling Eric to go fuck himself . . . well, in one form or another.

Good to hear. I just met Eric in the last episode I saw which turned into everyone running from the cops. I'm guessing he has a pretty large role in the story as it goes on?
I just want to go home and watch more - most addicting show evah~

I loved the episode that showed how Eric was made!
Eric is my favorite, probably influenced by liking him the best in the books. Anyway, there is more Eric in the second season so yea! He's a powerful area Vamp Sheriff that reports to the Queen vamp of Louisiana. Bill reports or has to answer to Eric. I think each state has a King and/or Queen. Sometimes they marry, so two states combine power.
Finished the first season off last night. That new vampire chick is really annoying but kinda fun at the same time. I can't decide if I like her or not yet. Eric is really cool even though he hasn't really done anything yet, I like his personality.

Yeah, I noticed that too. lol@pig lady or whatever she is.

That's funny Tax, because I was saying the same thing about the new vampire (Jessica)! I didn't think I was going to like her (she was so annoying!), but now this season she's grown into one of my favorites.
The one I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like (because the actress is totally MEH) is Bill's maker.

A very bad woman in the book, if you haven't guessed already.
Oh, she comes into the scene later? They showed Bill being made in one episode, and yea, she seemed pretty crazy.
I wanted Sam to turn into a bear or something instead of his shitty dog form when he tries to save Sookie. At least Sookie got the final blow in with her shovel - pretty cool that she's not completely useless in a fight.
