The Next 100 Years
I'm reading through this book and wondered if anyone else had picked it up yet? George Friedman's made some interesting forecasts. I'm at work now, so I'll have to bring my notes in tomorrow for specifics. For the moment, I realize his goal isn't to induce a sense of nihilism in the reader, but he invokes the notion of historical inevitability a little too much for me to be comfortable. His outline of American cycles is kind of neat.

Meh... I suppose I'd have to hear some of his 'reasons' behind his thoughts. Everything I heard in that video is that his ideas are going to be just cause he's saying so. Not necessarily disagreeing with him, but without some reasoning behind it, well it just sounds like some extreme speculation.
