Jesse Ventura
I didn't vote for him. But once he was in office for a few years I started seeing how much sense he made about so many things. I don't agree with him on everything. But I agree on a lot of things. And he is the only politician I have ever seen who gives a straight answer to every question every time. No carefully scripted statements that may only remotely apply to the question. No hedged answers that sound pretty, but are vague enough in their core that they can do something different later and deny having changed their position. No statements carefully padded to avoid offending people on either side of an issue.
Here he is talking about waterboarding

I remember when those jungle guerillas tried to assassinate Jesse "The Body" Ventura. They just grazed his arm. I remember someone saying "HEY MAN, YOU'RE HIT! YOU'RE BLEEDING!" and he said "...Ain't got no time to bleed"

How did that Braveheart quote go? "Uncompromising men are easy to admire."

Re: Jesse Ventura
I saw a you tube clip of him on Sean Hannity. Ventura tried to talk about the changes in the republican party that were driving people away. He said he was a Goldwater conservative. Hannity was holding to the Fox party line, and generally being a jerk. At one point Hannity fell to blaming all the ills of the world on the Clintons, and pointing out their scandals. Ventura said something that wowed me. "I would rather have a thousand Monicas than one 9/11"

I voted for him and had the pleasure of being at his Cantebury party where he announced his win. I continue to respect the guy!

That's Elizabeth Hasselbeck, token conservative on The View and former contestant on Survivor.
