She passed legislation against it as soon as she was able.

And to use one of your rhetorical tricks. If you acknowledge that she knew about illegal torture then shouldn't we try Bush and Cheney for having ordered illegal torture in the first place?

She knew about waterboarding and the use of it, which at the time was an unsettled legal issue in regards to torture. If the waterboarding was concretely illegal then, why would she have to pass additional legislation against it?

And she was "able" to introduce legislation as early as 2002. Tell me Klast, when was the legislation you're speaking of introduced? What was the name of thelegislation you're referring to?

Not sure if you mean in 2002 or 2003, but can you provide some links to back up those statements?

In any case, this discussion is going in circles. Pelosi said she was misled by the CIA briefing and wants the notes released to prove it. She wants a commission to investigate everything, including why Congressional oversight failed to prevent the criminal use of torture. Her opponents want to shut down the investigation or limit it only to what Pelosi knew. I think that speaks volumes.

No, no it wasn't.

The legislation was broader than waterboarding. However, waterboarding is and was clearly illegal.

I really think this is one of those desperate diversionary tactics from the GOP

They are losing people from pretty much all demographics

Yeah, but wait until all those people find out they just joined the Democrat Socialist Party. And here I said the Republicans had nothing of substance to offer. What a fool I am.

The Dems really don't want the truth it seems. A bipartisan congressional investigative panel seemed a fair way to get to the bottom of this.

I'm sure the Republicans will support an investigation that focuses on the entire issue, including what members of Congress were told and when. Not like the 60 day investigation of Pelosi was meant to distract or shift focus. It was just a quest for the truth!

Since Pelosi made her original statement about the 2002 briefing, nothing has surfaced to contradict her claims. Quite the opposite.

Then she (and the Dems) should have nothing to fear. If she's clean, then she can put it to bed and move on. And also silence the crtiics.

And I thought you were all for a finding out who knew what and when. Did you change your mind about that?

Not at all. Investigate all of it. The main focus should be on the people that approved the criminal acts. Who was briefed and why Congressional oversight failed is also important but it isn't the primary focus.

Calling for a 60 day investigation into Pelosi was such a transparent diversionary ploy that it's comical. Did you actually fall for the ploy or are you just wearing your partisan hat?

It would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic. The party that committed the crimes wants to focus on someone that may have known they were committing them.
