EverFail
I reactivated my EQ account. Not as terrible as I thought it would be. Even with all the changes, still fun learning new things and seeing new content. Bazaar gear is pretty ridiculous. Since it's fabled week, pretty easy to get gear far above and beyond anything any of us had back when we all played.
I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my ass.

Re: EverFail
*UPDATE*
Managed to bank almost 200AA in the week I've been back just from soloing. Grabbed a few fabled items, courtesy of Hellfire Club. Almost impossible to get a group thanks to botting/boxing and mercenaries. Definitely a far cry from the game we all once loved, but until May 8th it still has its charm.

200AA in a week soloing? Geez, they're practically giving them away.

Re: EverFail
There's a bonus for having under 1000AA. I get about 14-16% per kill in PoFire at 75. The novelty and nostalgia has worn off though, now it's just boring me. I pulled almost all of PoFear last night, including Draco, and killed it with a Warrior friend and an AoE weapon (Fabled Coral Hilted Tulwar). The game lost its charm when I was able to just go dick around in Vex Thal and kill everything except Fabled raid bosses.Njorls wrote:200AA in a week soloing? Khur told me you were asking about me. Neurott and I are talking about hitting up the new server, in case you wanna join, he's on my FB just send him a message (Patrick) and ask him about it. Addictguild.com i believe is the site he asked me to register at. I'm missing about 8274expansions, and i'd rather play my mage but still...

I was tempted to text you and tell you to start the 10+ hour patch and install from the digital download but it was 5am at the time.Ariannda Kusanagi wrote:Khur told me you were asking about me. Yeah i turn my ringer off at night for just such occasions, Pat called me the other night at 1130, but i cut him some slack since he's in Cali and forgets that East Coast time difference thing
Txt me whenever, just know i will reply eventually in the morning lol.
I'm thinking it'd be cheaper to go buy the 20 dollar whatever and get all the expansions. I have everything up to OoW and i MIGHT have the expansion after that, but i assume there's like 5 more that have come out

Re: EverFail
Buying the most recent expansion in EQ nets you all the previous expansions. With a declining game population some raiding guilds are having a tough time keeping number up, but it is the best time ever to do single group progression. The drops off the copious single group named mobs in the newest expansion are better than all but the end-game raid gear form the expansion prior. They have also added a lot of quests to the lower levels for people new or returning to the game.

My EQ1 account is still active cause a friend uses my shaman as a bot bitch. Occasionally I log in to say hi, but it's rare. :p

if you buy the lastest expansion, SOD, get new level cap and mercs

# Mercenaries — Need a hand with a tough battle? Hire a mercenary and crush the opposition! Player-controlled NPCs are now available! These role archetypes will scale to the appropriate level and will think and act for themselves with limited player guidance. Designed for extra support or extra muscle in PvE encounters, Mercenary archetypes include a variety of classes from all playable races. There are some rare non-playable races available to recruit as well!
# Level Cap Increase — Players can now achieve level 85! New high-level item sets, new alternate advancement ability lines and new spells await!

Re: EverFail
If you are doing level equivalent content the Warrior mercs are ridiculous tanks and pretty good DPS. Cleric mercs are just great if you can't find a healer, and they will rez you if you die. They take up a group slot, though, so it ends up being more like duoing instead of soloing.Nadia wrote:can buy last years all-in-one expansion, SOF, for 5.00, shipping includedSinaiel wrote:Buying the most recent expansion in EQ nets you all the previous expansions.
