Got it, saw it. It deviates from the original comic story line but that seems common for this series on the big screen. The effects are good, the story line solid and it's certainly the prequel which makes me want to go rent the other 3 and sit down and watch all of them. Not enough Gambit imo... See It, or if you want i'll burn you my copy. Someone in class got it off the net the one day it was put up, not all the CGI is finished, but i'll make anyone who wants a copy and mail it or send via yahoo or something if you want.

I do HAVEto see the movie because I am not leaving my children at the movie theater alone by themselves, so i am CHOOSING to do something my children will appreciate and enjoy even though I myself will not.

It's simply a comment, I didn't download the movie off the internet, it was given to me on disc, which is why i offered to send it to someone, but not upload it online as a torrent.

What i perhaps should have said was I would prefer to pay to see a movie in the theater (as opposed to watching it when it comes out on video) that I would LIKE to see as opposed to simply feeling like I wasted a bunch of money at the movie theater on movies I only semi care about. I do not go to the movies that often, i prefer to stay home and watch On Demand and as such I'm not looking forward to shelling out the price of 3 tickets to go see this particular movie.

While I don't condone copyright infringement, I still have serious problems with it being equated to theft. If someone steals your lunch then you no longer have lunch. If someone steals your car then you no longer have a car. If someone makes unauthorized copies of your work then you do still have your work and can make other sales.

It gets even weirder though. If you ask the MPAA/RIAA then you don't actually own anything when you buy a DVD or CD. You are entering into a licensing contract where the copyright holder grants you the right to play the work in a limited fashion (technically you can't have friends over to watch movies or let someone else listen to your CD) for the one-time payment you make at the store. With software, it's even worse and you may not even have the legal right to resell things you buy (despite GameStop etc. making a packet from it) because you aren't actually *buying* anything and if you lose your media then good luck trying to get another copy from the publishers despite your still having the right to it.

In addition, copyright for life+75 years (or whatever it's at these days) is just plain broken. I can handle a period of 5-10 years but beyond that things should enter the public domain for anyone to take and improve on. Copyright should exist to foster advancement and not as a protection racket - if you can't make something better after having exclusive rights for 10 years then it's time to let someone else try.

So, while I don't condone copyright infringement I can't feel too bad for media publishers that have had a virtual monopoly on distribution who continually engage in a whole swathe of unethical and immoral tactics to protect their outdated and dying business models.
