Isn't it a farce to put something like this in a plea deal even if the defendant believes it could happen?

I agree, to allow this in the plea is to acknowledge that she isn't in fact guilty, because it was the will of God.

That's just screwy. She should be classed as not guilty by reason of insanity from what I read there.

Consider it a wacko version of immunity. It's actually really smart, by doing this, the chick gets the help she needs (fixed delusions anyone) and allows for quick, meaniful prosecution of 3 or 4 other people involved. Without this, there was serious doubt if they could get a quick resolution to this at trial.
