I hope it makes an impact. As others have said, I wish he had mentioned sexual violence, but at least he mentioned domestic violence. The statistics and ways people view it are terrifying. Perhaps this will contribute to breaking down the way society sees it that helps to perpetuate it.
I'm also glad he has two daughters and a strong wife. Some articles were giving Michelle shit for wearing sleeveless gowns to events. The White House response from her was basically if she felt like it, she was going to do it. End of story.
