Grand Torrino

Post by Klast Brell »

Saw Grand Torrino with my wife this weekend. We really liked it.

Eastwood looks old as hell. No big surprise. He is 79 years old. But the role is for a guy that old and he does a masterful job. Granted the role was almost written for him. A tough as nails, pissed off, old guy who doesn't talk much.

But it's damn good. You should see it.

Why isn't this in reviews Mr. Klast sir.

We really want to see it, but it's been too damn cold this past week - we hibernated.

Big big Eastwood fan here. He's not only a great actor but a superb director as well. Not really into movie theaters so I'll wait for the DVD on this one, but I've got Outlaw Josey Wales queued up on my media player and maybe Fistful of Dollars later.

The wife just mentioned that this movie has gotten some negative reviews because Clint Eastwood doesn't talk much, but he never has. That's the whole point. When he does talk, he's badass, like the line about the 44 magnum from Dirty Harry or the talk with the Indians in Josey Wales. Most of the earlier westerns he doesn't even have a name.

This movie is indeed awesome as hell.

And the role he plays in it is perfect for his 'speak softly and carry a big stick' way of being. If he talked more it wouldn't be the same, and his character wouldn't be as cool.

I think you mean Gran Turismo...
I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my ass.
