Just bought it, only about 2 hours into it and this may very well be the BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED!!!

Seriously, wow!

I didn't know it was out.

This is Bethesda doing it right? Do you think they will come out with an ass load of mini expansions for it like they did for Oblivion?

Yup, and you can tell it's definitely got that Oblivion feel, but the way they have done it and the insanely detailed way they are weaving the sandbox together is fucking amazing. I'm seriously loving it. The replayability alone is probably going to have me playing this until next year. Plus they did set the storyline up so that expansions upon expansions is possible and I hope they do it.

I'm tossing up whether I'll go with Steam or the box copy. I tend to like having boxes, but it's more expensive. Definitely a game I'm gonna get though.

I think I'd buy the download version if I had the chance to do it again. The install from the DVD took a long ass time and worse the fucking copy protection on the box one pisses me off. It seems to take for fucking ever to authenticate my DVD in there. Oh and unless you actually want to use the Microsoft Live bullshit I recommend renaming the fallout3.exe.cat file because I was having all kinds of shitty errors until I renamed that (thus disabling Microsoft Live).

Dammit - I need to pay more attention. Never realized the prices on Steam were in USD on the Aussie section. Should have paid using my US address. :(

Oh well - lesson learned for all you non-US folk.

Have you guys had any issues with freezes, lock-ups and CTDs?
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

As mentioned, had a butt load of problems until I renamed that file and thus disabled the Microsoft Live shit. Haven't had a crash since.

No issues at all here, but I'm not playing on a LIVE-enabled profile so dunno if that changes anything.

Scratch that - I've had one screen corruption (that F5 to save then a reboot fixed) and one CTD so far. It's nothing that's really bothering me though. I suspect nVidia's drivers more than the game though.

I bought it for 360, but I'm only about an hour into it. It's pretty good though, but I have been spending more time with Littlebigplanet.
